Thank you for bothering to care enough to read this note.
LONG STORY SHORT:
Staff voted 4 to 2 to reboot. And 5 to 1 to keep the plot lines the same. The result: CAS is closing, and Crystal Cities is opening to fix some key problems like lack of cohesion and too many slots and NOT enough players. crystalcities.proboards.com/
THE LONG STORY LONG:
For some of you, this may come as a shock and a blinking filled fest. For others they know this was on the horizon peeking merrily over and staring them in the face.
The entire staff spent 3 hours last night (and Kat and I spent about 12 hours working on setting up a new site) working on how do we fix the multiple problems with CAS.... and how do we avoid them in the future?
The staff voted 4 to 2 on rebooting the game and keeping the plot lines as opposed to a new setting.
Then we voted on some other things.
The end result was we decided to close C.A.S. and open "Crystal Cities". Crystal Cities will be a rebooted plot line concerning Solaris... with some key changes.
... including the fact I spent about 6 hours writing down some of the "Frequently asked questions" and "problems" that came up in the game, like, how much DOES my character know about the past... Do I know who Beryl / Diamond/ Galaxia are? Why can't I be evil? How DOES religion work in the game?!
... and so forth..
While, after 12 odd hours we have NOT completed everything, like I haven't updated the locations and the new district names, it's enough done that people can jump right into making their characters... or doing the lottery to get a senshi or a knight.
This has been a hellva ride... and 8 months of work... but let's face it, the game was a snails crawl. In 8 months we successfully completed 1 episode and in my desperate need to "fix" things I "fixed" the system 3 times to it's current state.
... This is the last reboot on these storylines.
We, the staff and I, are looking for COMMITTED players who are COMMITTED to this game enough that they will put in the TIME to keep it moving and keep their noses OUT of the drama cookie jar to let me do MY job...
... That's not a slam for anyone, and this way I don' thave to toss a few people out on their ears for the inability to keep up with the game, and for the people who just can't adapt.
For those leaving us here, thanks for coming..
For those who are willing to grab your wits about you, and dive into something new...
I'll see you in Crystal Cities!
